The Ministry of Finance plans an installation subsidy of 50,000 baht per household, with an initial target of 1 million entitlements and a total budget of around 50 billion baht, for installations on roofs or on the ground. The Ministry of Interior is proposing to expand it to 1.5 million households

As of 18 September 2026, registration has not opened. The Ministry of Finance expects to open it in mid-October 2026 and aims to complete the program by the end of 2027. If you see ads saying you can "reserve your entitlement now," check the official government announcements first
Yes, under the announced approach: state banks will lend for the installation cost above the subsidy, repaid from power sales and electricity savings, and the government pays the subsidy after the utility successfully connects the system
The people's solar program buys surplus power at 2.20 baht per unit on a 10-year contract, for residential customers only, up to 5 kW per meter, with a national quota of no more than 500 MW on a first-come, first-served basis
Individuals can deduct the actual equipment and installation costs of a residential solar rooftop system, up to 200,000 baht (including VAT). An e-Tax Invoice is required and the grid connection with MEA/PEA must be completed before filing. One person, one system
Each measure has its own conditions and they can be combined if you meet all the criteria, but the full rules for the 50,000-baht subsidy haven't been announced, so it's not yet clear how overlaps with other programs will be handled — the EV Power Energy team can check this when planning your installation
There's no announcement yet on whether it will apply retroactively — this is one of the conditions awaiting the full government criteria
