FAQ — solar prices

How much does a 5 kW solar system cost in 2025?+

A 5 kW home solar system in 2025 costs about 150,000–210,000 baht, including panels, inverter, mounting, wiring and installation labor. Price depends on panel brand, inverter quality and roof complexity

How long does home solar take to pay back?+

Homes with high daytime use (air conditioning, working from home) pay back within 4–6 years; homes that mostly use power at night pay back in 7–10 years. Panels last 25–30 years, so everything after payback is pure savings

What is the cheapest solar system?+

The most affordable home system starts at 3 kW for about 90,000–130,000 baht. Beware of unusually low prices (under 70,000 baht for 3 kW) — they often mean low-quality panels, short warranties or substandard installation

What size factory solar system suits my electricity bill?+

A factory with a 100,000 baht/month bill suits a 30–50 kW system; 500,000 baht/month suits 150–200 kW; and 1,000,000+ baht/month suits 300 kW and up. The exact size must be calculated from your actual bills and load profile

What does the solar price include?+

Quoted prices include: solar panels, inverter, mounting (rail + brackets), DC/AC cabling, DB box and protection devices, installation labor, initial electricity authority permit and system testing. Additional electrical work is not included (if the existing wiring isn't suitable)

How much can solar cut my monthly bill?+

A 5 kW system produces an average of 18–22 units/day, or 540–660 units/month — worth 2,000–3,500 baht/month (at 3.5–5.0 baht/unit). Actual figures depend on local sunshine and roof orientation

Can I get a tax deduction for solar?+

Individuals can deduct up to 200,000 baht under Royal Decree No. 805 (2026); companies can expense 1.5 times the cost and may also qualify for BOI incentives (check the conditions before filing).
